* Served as Wardrobe Supervisor in a number of Regional and Off-Broadway Theaters, managing entire Costume Departments (casts of up to 30 actors).
* Apprenticed with Tony and Emmy Award winning Broadway, Television and Film Costume Designers.
Design Development: *Work directly with Tracy to research and develop original artwork for prints, beading and embroidery for 9 deliveries a year. *Engineer repeats and re-color prints in Adobe Photoshop. *Launched debut Home and Jewelry Collections in 2004 under the Plenty by Tracy Reese label.
Technical: *Engineer all specs (knits, wovens) for Plenty by Tracy Reese: approximately 40 styles/9 deliveries/year. *Participate as Fit Model for Size 8 pre-production samples. *Attend fittings with Tracy, write fit comments and facilitate return of protos to factories.
Sampling/Production: *Create line sheets, tech packs/production & trim books. *Act as liaison between Design and Production Departments domestically and internationally. *Communicate daily with our India, Hong Kong and China factories, as well as the Manager of our New Delhi office. *Approve lab dips and strike-offs. *Manage, prep and distribute all salesman samples between NY, LA and London showrooms.
Fabric Buying: *Travel twice yearly on buying trips to Premier Vision in Paris. *Communicate regularly with fabric and trim suppliers throughout season, expediting deliveries accordingly. *Purchase sample fabric domestically and internationally.
Intern Supervision: *Interview, hire and direct interns, working with their schools to ensure they complete a program tailored to them which will grant them school credit. *Train in fabric dying, hand sewing, sample maintenance, tech packs, Photoshop, etc.
**Gross sales within my division (Plenty) increased by 380% in my first year (from $2 Million to $7.6 Million).
Intern: Design Works, Intl. Sept. 1999-January 2000
* Developed skills through direct training in Textile Design. Prepared packages with original artwork for overseas clients.
* Attended client meetings and Trend Forecasting presentations. Reported to and worked directly with Creative Director, Nancy Fire.
* Organized and created systems within Image & Color Library. Completed Honors thesis in Color Psychology for my A.S. degree.
